The Chairman, Councillor Mrs H Catley, welcomed the member of the public and Councillors to the last meeting of the Civic Year and of that administration.
1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
An apology for absence was received from Councillor Mrs G McCoyd.
2. MINUTES
The Minutes of the Annual Town Meeting held on 27th April 2006, having been previously circulated, were approved after amendment to:
Item 4 Clean up of land.
"Cemetery" to be replaced with "land surrounding the Ramsey School".
3. MAYOR'S REPORT
The Chairman, Councillor Mrs H Catley, gave a report on the Civic Year 2006/2007, copy available on request.
4. DISTRICT COUNCILLORS' REPORTS
Councillor Mrs J Pell proposed and it was agreed that District Councillors' reports are appended to the minutes for circulation.
5. COUNTY COUNCILLOR'S REPORT
Councillor J Pike gave his report, copy attached, in which he recognised the continued co-operation between County, District and Town Councils.
Councillor Pike thanked the Mayor for her reference to the Community Initiatives Fund and advised that another £150,000 will be available and is open to any community group to apply.
6. PUBLIC QUESTION TIME
Mr P Downey, 166 Colchester Road raised his concerns regarding the footpath at the rear of his property which is being used by youngsters on mopeds, scooters etc.
Councillor Mrs H Catley and Councillor M Gage agreed to visit the area and the matter will be brought to the attention of the Police and the Community Warden.
Councillor Mrs Catley thanked everyone for attending and wished Councillors J Pilgrim, Councillor Mrs T Shelton, Councillor Mrs J Wilson and Councillor Mrs C Burne, who will not be standing again in the forthcoming election, for their contribution over the past four years. Particular thanks were given to Councillor Mrs C Burne for her many year's of service including her year of office as Mayor of Halstead.
