THE PUBLIC MAY ATTEND THIS MEETING  

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Before the meeting commences, the outgoing Mayor, Councillor Mrs Helen Catley, will present cheques, raised through her fund raising efforts, to the following charities.

1. T.A.P.s  to Mrs Jackie Pell
2. League of Friends of Halstead Hospital to Mr Tony Shelton
3. Halstead Day Centre to Dr Tim Heath

Councillor Mrs Catley will then present certificates of service to: -

Members of the Council are requested to attend the Annual General Meeting, to transact the following business: - 

1.      Apologies for Absence 

2.      Election of Chairman/Mayor To elect the Chairman/Mayor of the Town Council for the ensuing year. Declaration of Acceptance of Office of Chairperson.  

3.      Election of Vice Chairman To elect the Vice Chairman of the Town Council for the ensuing year. Declaration of Acceptance of Office.             

4.      Declaration of Acceptance of Office All remaining Councillors, who have not already done so, to sign a Declaration of Acceptance of Office and acceptance of the Code of Conduct.  

5.      Election of Committees 

(a)               Finance & General Purposes Committee (five Members normally appointed, plus Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council as ex-officio). 

(b)               Amenities Committee (five Members normally appointed, plus Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council as ex-officio). 

(c)               Planning Committee (all Members) 

(d)               Staff Review Group  

(e)               Budget Working Group ADJOURNMENT – To enable committees to meet and make appointments – Please see attached agendas.  

6.      Additional Appointments To make appointments, in accordance with the attached list, as representatives of the Town Council to various bodies.  

7.      Any other business considered urgent by the Chairman.
