HALSTEAD'S  MAYOR   FOR  2009/2010

At the Annual Town Council Meeting held on Thursday 14^th May Councillor David Hume was unanimously elected by fellow Halstead Councillors to stand for a second term of office as Mayor of Halstead.

In proposing this election Councillor Mrs. Jackie Pell said that David had been an excellent Mayor and ambassador for Halstead during the past year, and she paid tribute to the support given to David by his family, especially his partner Penny.

Jackie congratulated David on raising £1300 for each of his charities - Home Start, The Samaritans and T.A.P.S. and said she was sure that he would perform his Mayoral duties well over the coming year.

Councillor Hume said that it would be an honour to stand as Mayor for a second term, and thanked all Councillors for their encouragement and support during his first year of office.

Councillor Mrs. Jackie Pell was unanimously elected to stand for a further term as Vice-Chairman of the Council.
